Since it was overfilled, you may want to remove the right side cover, then disconnect/remove the air filter snorkle to check and see if the filter is covered in oil and if there's oil in the air box. BMW wants $70-80 for their 70w-80/Hypoid Axle G3 G3 branded oil; you can get Castrol Syntrax 75W-90, GL5 rated oil for $16 on Amazon. Castrol is the supplier of BMW oils.
2011 F650GS Fork Oil Level. I'm changing the fork oil in Annie's 2011 GS. The Haynes manual calls for 530 ml of oil and for there to be a 100 mm airgap from the oil to the top of the fork, with the fork compressed. I put the 530 ml of oil in and I have a 143 mm air gap.

Refill with the new oil. Reinstall the springs and spacer, install the forks into the triple clamps, upper torqued to 20NM, the lower to 25NM. Press down on the spring spacer, install the fork caps, torque to 20NM and reinstall the front wheel. It should take you about 2 hours to perform this task.
