As for "BMW certified" shop, I had an accident a while back and damaged the front bumper and a tiny corner where the front fender matches up with the bumper. First took it to a BMW shop, the estimate was a freaking $7500, plus, they wanted to replace the fender, paint the whole hood and blend into the front door "just to match". I said no way.

I've seen it suggested that on older BMWs (2002s) the color was Polaris Silver #060, just like the car body paint. I've heard BMW bikers say it's Hellsilber (light silver) #131, and Glasurit shows a BMW wheel paint: Felgensilber (rim silver) metallic #144 used from 1978-2009. TheE28Ranch. Posts: 2046.

1. 2-3 coats of valspar rattle can paint for plastic. unfortunately, they only have gloss black. Thus the need for the next step. 2. Paint 2 coats of regular flat black rattle can (not for plastic) on top of the gloss to mute the tone to a matte. I also did this on my wife's Infiniti and it looks awesome.

The typical color code format is: 300. which corresponds to: Alpine White III Clearcoat. Same Color Code, Different Name BMW, like all manufacturers, uses the exact same color across many models and then will have a different color name for each model. It's the same paint! This is why the color code is so important to order the correct paint
